We offer our gourmet products to conscious consumers committed to the same values we uphold in our business. We practice fair wages and working conditions, fair distribution of benefits, ethical business practices, and respect for human rights, culture, and the environment. We pay fair market prices for chillies to our commercial farms and small-scale growers, and ethical living wages to our farm workers. In addition, we offer our own employees on-site benefits, including subsidized staple food items, health benefits, and training with access to professional development opportunities.
Elephant Pepper PTY Ltd. has been involved in fair trade practices since our
inception, when we realised that the only way to get commitment from
our producers was to negotiate a fair price before they put their
chilli seeds in the ground. Through our trade partners we are able to
guarantee to buy back every chilli grown on our projects to give the
rural producer what they have never had - price stability.
Through the sales of our chilli sauces, Elephant Pepper PTY Ltd. has committed ten percent of profits to the Elephant Pepper Development Trust so it may educate African communities about safe and effective problem animal control methods in elephant-populated areas.
